11 Injured As Projectiles Fired From Lebanon Strike Golan Heights Village
Emergency workers responded to the scene in Majdal Shams after a rocket attack
Nine people were critically wounded in the attack, according to Israeli rescue forces
At least 11 people have been injured after projectiles were reportedly fired from Lebanon into Majdal Shams, Golan Heights on Saturday, according to Israeli media. Emergency workers at the scene said a rocket fired from Lebanon struck a soccer field in Majdal Shams. Nine people were critically wounded and two others were lightly injured, according to the Israeli emergency service.
Majdal Shams has been controlled by Israel since the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, although the international community recognizes it along with the rest of the Golan Heights as Syrian territory. The attack comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and Lebanon, following a series of rocket attacks from Lebanon into Israel in recent weeks.
