ISTANBUL, TURKEY - Arda Güler's stunning second-half strike helped Türkiye earn a 3-1 victory over Georgia in a UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier on Thursday.
Güler, a 20-year-old Real Madrid youngster, curled a magnificent shot into the top corner from outside the box to give Turkey the lead in the 65th minute.
Turkey had taken the lead through Burak Yilmaz in the first half, but Georgia had equalized through Giorgi Chakvetadze just before the break.
Yunus Akgün sealed the victory for Turkey with a third goal in the 85th minute.
The victory moves Turkey to the top of Group C, with nine points from three games, while Georgia remains in fourth place with just one point.
And there's more to come tonight as Cristiano Ronaldo starts for Portugal against Luxembourg in Group A.
