Catholic bishops have also weighed in, urging the government to acknowledge the growing opposition to the tax hikes and the Finance Bill 2024.
Ruto Calls Protests Treasonous
Kenyan President William Ruto has denounced the protests as "treasonous events" and warned that those responsible for the violence would be held accountable.
In a televised address, Ruto accused the protesters of attempting to overthrow the government and pledged to restore order swiftly.
