Early Life and Family

Carlos Sheinbaum Yoselevitz was born on June 24, 1962 in Mexico City, Mexico. His father, also named Carlos Sheinbaum Yoselevitz, was a businessman and chemical engineer. His mother, Annie Pardo Cemo, was a molecular biologist and activist.

Business and Activism

Sheinbaum Yoselevitz followed in his father's footsteps, becoming a chemical engineer. He worked in the leather industry before becoming involved in leftist politics. He was a member of the Mexican Workers' Party (PMT) and later became a co-founder of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD).
