Veteran broadcasters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have announced their decision to divorce after 14 years of marriage. The couple, who have been a fixture on British television screens for decades, released a joint statement confirming the news.
"It is with great sadness that we announce that we are divorcing," the statement read. "We have been married for almost 14 years, during which time we have shared a wonderful journey filled with love and laughter. However, we have recently come to realize that our relationship is no longer working.
Holmes, 62, and Langsford, 61, have hosted numerous popular TV shows together, including "This Morning" and "Loose Women." They first met in 1997 while working on the children's show "GMTV" and married in 2007.
The couple's separation has been met with sadness by their fans and colleagues. Holmes took to social media to express his emotions after the announcement.
"I am trying to process my own feelings at the moment," he wrote on Twitter. "I have loved Ruth for many years and we have shared a wonderful life together. I wish nothing but the best for her in the future."
Langsford has yet to publicly comment on the divorce. The pair have a 19-year-old son, Jack.
