Web Exploitation Competition

Web exploitation competition, also known as resource competition, is a type of competition in which organisms indirectly compete by consuming and reducing a common limiting resource or shared food item. It occurs when two or more species share a dependency on the same resource, and their usage affects the availability of that resource for the other species.

Types of Web Exploitation Competition

Web exploitation competition can take two main forms:

  • Interference competition: Occurs when individuals directly interact and interfere with each other's access to resources, such as through aggressive behavior or territoriality.
  • Exploitation competition: Occurs when individuals indirectly compete by consuming or reducing the availability of a shared resource, without direct interaction.
